adraker internet scams affiliate programsAt first glance, the confusing AdRaker scheme appears to be an Internet scam, but with further inspection and reading of other people’s opinions and experiences, I became very interested in AdRaker. I consider myself a (hopefully) fair reviewer, with the Internet Scams category bursting to the brim with PTR e-mail scams.

What is AdRaker and how does it work?
AdRaker is the weirdest PTR scheme I have ever seen. It uses a ‘profit share scheme’ combined with its PTR e-mail system. This is how it works:

1. Upon signing up to AdRaker you receive a free ’slot’ which needs activating. You can activate it for free (I’m not saying this is a particularly good thing) buy gaining 8000 activity points.

“Current Points Schedule:
Read and visit one email advertiser - 50 points/day
Login to your AdRaker Account - 25 points/day
Buy AdRaker Slots - 100 points/slot
Referral link hits - 1 point/unique visitor
Upgraded Referral- 150 points/per upgraded referral
Buy from a sponsored advertiser (upto 1000 points)”

Alternatively you can buy slots for $10 each. AdRaker Slots expire once they have made you at least 190% ($19.00) cash back per slot.

How can AdRaker afford to pay $19 back for a $10 slot?

“There are two streams of income both calculated and paid to your AdRaker account daily. The first is the total AdRaker Slots bought for that day E.G $6500.00. Then the second is the total emails sold with guaranteed visitors that day via both our external sites and internally E.G $1400.00. So in this case the total income to be shared among all AdRaker members according to how many slots they own is $7900.00 for the day. If there were 500 slots active for that day then each slot would earn you $15.80 in just one day!”

adraker-internet-scams.pngThat is quoted from their FAQ and has a fatal flaw. If $6500 slots were bought, there would be a lot more than 500 active slots. In fact there would be 650 new slots for that day alone. However, this does not mean the system does not work. I went though the loops in my head and as far as I can tell this is what will happen:

Example
Lets say there are already 10 active slots. That day 10 people buy slots.

10 = $100
10

Advertising, on the ‘Trial SafeMail option’ (see screenshot above) costs $19.95 (lets say $20) for 10,000 e-mails.

20/10,000 =0.002c (per person).

There are 20 people signed up, so that’s 20 e-mails, which is:

20 X 0.002 = 0.04c

So that’s a total of $100.04 split between 20 members which is $5.002 each.

Continuing the example
Lets say 10 more people bought new slots each day, which would make $100 each time.

Day2:
10 = $100
20
Total of 30 people

0.002 X 30 = 0.06

$100.06/30 = $3.335 each.

Can we agree the amount is decreasing? Lets skip to if there were 1000 people with 10 signups in a day.

10
1000
1010 people in total.

0.002 X 1010 = $2.02

$102.02/1010 = $0.01 each.

Results
My calculations are limited because we cannot know how many people are signing up each day. However, it does prove that AdRaker will never run out of money. The number of members has no influence on overall earnings from advertisers, because it always costs 0.002 per member. The number of daily signups determines the amount of earnings. I also didn’t take into account that AdRaker take (for themselves) 2% - 8% of the earnings. However, because this is a percentage and not a fixed amount it means AdRaker will never run out of money.

Scam or Not Conclusion
Sue me if my maths is wrong, but I do not think AdRaker is an internet scam. Although earnings decrease as AdRaker gets bigger, the rate of signups increases (with more people referring more and more people). As long as this rate continues to increase, earnings will remain steady or increase. If the signup rate falls, earnings will decrease but never reach 0 (as long as advertisers keep buying).

Adraker’s Affiliate Program
As previously quoted, referring people to Adraker earns you activity points. In addition to this, every active referral made earns you a free $10 AdRaker slot. This seems like a pretty good deal, but remember this applies to everyone! Free slots are not adding to the AdRaker money pool and so decrease earnings for those without referrals.

Is AdRaker lucrative enough to be a recommended affiliate program?
The simple answer is no, although the topic is very much open to debate. This forum thread comes of in favour of Adraker and so does this one. Before I end I should quickly mention that the Adraker Terms of Use Page fails to load for me, which isn’t a good sign. Do you think AdRaker works like I have calculated?
