A Guide to Affiliate Programs and internet scams. Scam or Not? Want to know if something is a scam?
28 Mar
Readers of my blog already know my view about Wealthtoolbox. However, it is one of the affiliate programs that is quite obviously an internet scam and everyone should be warned.
I try my hardest to give a balanced, fair review of affiliate programs, but sometimes it just is not possible. This is one of those times. I must also apologise for the lack of screenshots and images in this post. There will be none simply because there is nothing of Wealthtoolbox that is worth taking a screenshot of.
Wealthtoolbox barley gets away with being called an affiliate program. There is currently no reward for referring people, although it used to be a flat rate of 50 imaginary dollars per referral.
The way Wealthtoolbox works is simple, too simple. To sign up all you need to do is enter your e-mail address. They then deposit $50 (this amount has now gone up to $100!) in your account. And that’s it! You just sit there, while they ‘invest’ your money, and somehow your balance just keeps on rising. Mine has now risen to a whopping $629.53!
It should be obvious that they will never pay out. According to the terms and conditions they will payout after two years, which is way to long. Also their ‘business plan’ simply doesn’t make sense. If they could magically ‘invest’ and make more money like that why would they need to put money into our accounts to do it? Why not just do it without us?
Anyway, entering your e-mail address seems like a pretty low risk right?
Wrong
Our e-mail address is the only thing they want from us, so it must be the way they are going to make money. My prediction is that they are creating a massive list of email address of gullible people with the intention to sell it. A list of a million e-mail addresses is worth a lot of money.
What does being on the list mean?
In a word, spam. Who ever buys that list will have paid a lot of money and so will want to put it to ‘good’ use. They will probably do this by sending large amounts of promotional e-mails. You don’t want to be on it.
In a way it has already begun, somehow someone managed to steal a chunk of the list and have been sending spam emails to everyone on it. Me included. So far it has only been about 3 or 4 emails over a couple of weeks, but everyone who was sent one now has access to those e-mail address and can start spamming too.
Conclusion
As I have said Wealthtoolbox is clearly and Internet scam and I advise you to avoid it at all costs. You have been warned! It is a HYIP scam (high yield investment program scam) with a twist. No investment and no yield.
Keep those site suggestions coming in!

Total thanks for the heads up on this program. Your site is great. I don’t know of any other site that does what you are doing. I can come here to check and see which programs are worth joining… I love it, keep up the great work!
Thanks Garry! Everyone deserves to know about internet scams. Hopefuly as this site grows it will be a (minor) deterrent to scam sites. I’M ON TO THEM!
Matt
Thanks so much, as you can see they no longer exist already. Click on their link and it says server not found and a search for wealthtoolbox.com now displays google ads. Great article.
Why are u lot so negitive, It may be a scam but whats the worst that could happen? If ur realy worried sign up with a new email address. By the way WealthToolBox has taken away all unused emails recently and all the referal credit to the sponser accounts. Why would they bother if they wernt genuinly paying out. All u need to do is make a fake free email account like Hotmail or Yahoo and sign uup. then visit the site and go to your account once a month. that should take like a miniute a time, so at max ull spend 24 munits for free money, REALY what have u got to lose?????
Hi can you tell anything about this program please
ian
Matt,
someone has already stolen a good 100 or so emails from them and sent spam emails around. My email address was one of those stolen. The most likely thing that will happen is that Wealthtoolbox will sell our email address so that we get even more spam.
The worst thing that could happen will be that when people eventually claim payout they will have to enter their bank details or PayPal email address and get hacked and/or have their details abused.
I have also read numerous posts claiming Wealttoobox to be a scam, but there has never been a Wealthtoolbox representative there to defend them.
They bother to make changes so people don’t think it is a scam and so they can keep getting new e-mail addresses. I generally have quite an open mind when it comes to making money online but Wealthtoolbox is a definate nono.
Hi ian,
thanks for your request, I will post about legisi in a couple of days time.
Now they’re offering a Forex training course that promises to teach you how to double your money every month. The course costs $495. The problem is you don’t know who these people, not even where they are located. There’s no contact button. If I could double my money every month, I don’t think I’d waste my time doing what they are doing. Double $1000 a month for 12 months and you have…$2 million. With all the scams aroun, it seems to me that if you’re legit, you’ll do all you can to build a transparent picture of yourself. There’s just too many no-no’s. By the way the site is not down as of today.
Hi chuck,
thats correct I recently recieved the e-mail from them about that. I will post about it shortly (to warn people away from it!).
They’ve lowered their Forex Trading Course to $99, stating the reason that more than 80% of their members do not have more than $500 to spend.
Any opinions on that?
Hi Ecc,
I was actually unaware of that, they have not sent me an e-mail saying that…
If anything I would take is as a good sign that people have been wary enough not to pay up the $500. However, we have no way of telling if what they are saying is true. They might have already made $1000s and are just trying to get a few more!
It just shows the ’scammyness’. If they really knew how to make millions with Forex trading, it would seem very unlikly they would teach people how for just $500, yet alone $99!
Matt
Well I found this site from an old college of mine on MSN. He had the url in his MSN nickname. I checked it out and even googled a bit and no one even mentioned WTB being a scam site. There were only questionmarks.
I thought, hell, what damage can it cause to just register and be active for 2 years? Getting spam e-mail? NO, it says in his privacy policy ( http://www.wealthtoolbox.com/privacy.html ): “We respect your right to privacy and do not rent, share, sell, trade or otherwise make your information available to any third party.”. There blows your theory on how he sells our e-mail addresses in your face.
First time he offered me to pay up 500 dollars to do that course I didn’t want to pay it, it was a bit too much money. Today I got an email about it and he has lowered it to 198 dollars I think it was. I bought it, yes, I’ve paid him money! I got a username/password to access his site and he releases VIDEOS with AUDIO, going through the basics and then up to intermediate and finally to expert level on how to trade as he does. It’s nothing scammy about it, not from what I’ve noticed. It seems quite legit to me. So take your bullshit and shove it up somewhere the sun don’t shine. If you don’t like it, don’t even write about it. Because so far he has done what he has promised and I really enjoy his videos, they are very interesting and educational. So take a moment to think next time before you blame a site for being a scam site.
HMMM… they just entice you with the $50 signup fees and then… pay u in 2 years time @@” :D.. i’m still curious though.. whether do they pay.. chances are pretty slim.. like a thread
Robert, thanks for your opinion (even if it is somewhat fiery!).
Your point about privacy with our e-mails addresses. They, they may not sell them to another party, (that was just an idea); but instead have already been sending out about 4 e-mails each week promoting their own program. Is that so much better?
Is this one of the videos you are talking about?

It is interesting, but a few things don’t add up. He may have made a successful trade, but that doesn’t mean he can do it consistently. $198 or $500 is a lot of money to be investing and most legit companies go to a lot more effort to prove they are genuine, rather than just saying they “are an average guy” in a vain attempt to relate to his ‘below average’ victims.
It is similar to a ‘make money online’ blog where the author is actually still learning how to make money online themselves and is making OK progress, but claims they are super-affiliates with 1000s of unique visitors each day; only this time instead of reading the blog for free you have to pay hundreds of Dollars.
Of course I am intersted to know if he actually teaches you anything useful in these courses, so keep me posted.
One more thing, do you think Wealthtoolbox are going to pay out on their original program? (the one we have to wait 2 years for…)
Hello Matt, sorry for being a bit rude :P.
I’ve seen the video you just posted but I’ve seen two other movies as well. They keep coming. Sure, he hasn’t actually learnt us how to trade yet but he is still learning us the basics, trying to let us get familiar with the different tools we have at hand. He usually posts a new video a few days after the previous one so I guess a new video will be up soon.
I’ve had my doubts about this guy as well but after seeing the paid videos, it seems he have put down a lot of effort, especially the one that came after the one you just posted. Too much effort for being a scammer in my opinion.
Sure, the thought of being scammed is always there but this guy does seem pretty OK to me.
And about his website, I am just as curious as everyone else and I always ask the question “Why?”. He doesn’t earn any money from sponsors (actually he did but he removed the google ads after a while). So why give people free money? That is a question I’d like to get an answer on as well, I’ll see if I can contact him after the 3 month lessons. The only logical reason I can come up with at the moment is that he’s got a lot of money, he wants to teach people and that he’s one hell of a nice guy that actually reveal these “strategies”.
Really interesting but I’ll check out this blog once in a while to keep you guys up to date. I won’t reveal any “inside” information though, if you want that you have to pay for yourselves ;). We’ll see how it turns out :P.
Just a question for you Robert - after paying 195$ - have you made any money?
As in Jerry McGuire “Show me the money!”
I tend to agree with Matt. Nothing about this site seems legit - but that’s just my opinion.
This is exactly what I expected to find out after reading the title Internet Scams. Thanks for informative article
